Under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has put out a new Quality Control Order (QCO) for the following goods. This order requires following Indian Standards and showing the Standard Mark starting September 1, 2024. Small Enterprises must comply by December 1, 2024, while Micro Enterprises must adhere by March 1, 2025. But businesses registered on the "Udyam portal" that don't make a lot of money or spend much are exempt. The goal of this QCO is to make sure that the quality of the products, the safety of the consumers, and the uniformity of the production of cooking tools, kitchenware, and food and drink cans.
