Dear Viewer,
Anti-riot shoes, governed by Indian Standard IS 17037:2018, are specialized footwear designed to offer protection and support during riot control situations. These shoes are engineered to withstand various hazardous conditions, providing durability, stability, and comfort to law enforcement personnel or security forces engaged in managing civil disturbances or protests.
As per IS 17037:2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has changed the Quality Control Order (QCO) for anti-riot shoes. As of August 1, 2024, this rule makes sure that all anti-riot shoes made in India or brought in from other countries meet the requirements of the Indian Standard and have the BIS Standard Mark on them. BIS is in charge of monitoring compliance and giving certificates when needed. The goal of this amendment is to protect law enforcement and the public during riot control activities by maintaining standards for product quality, safety, and performance.
