BIS Quality Control Amendment Order For Leather safety footwear having direct moulded rubber sole, IS 11226: 1993

Under the Quality Control Order (QCO), the Bureau of Indian Standards says that safety shoes made of leather and direct-molded rubber must follow IS 11226:1993. From August 1, 2024, all of these shoes will have to have the Standard Mark on them. There are some exceptions for exports and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. When declared, manufacturers who already have uncertified stock can sell until June 30, 2025. According to higher safety standards for the workplace, BIS is in charge of confirming and maintaining compliance.
