Dear Viewer,
Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers Quality Control Amendment Order 2024 Pyridine(Quality Control) Order, 2020.
Pyridine is a heterocyclic organic compound with the chemical formula C5H5N. It is a colorless liquid with a distinct, unpleasant odor often described as fish-like. Pyridine is commonly used as a precursor to various chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and herbicides. Its versatile nature and unique chemical properties make it a valuable component in many industrial processes.
The Quality Control Order (QCO) for Pyridine, which is known as IS 8058:2018, spells out the rules and guidelines that must be followed when making and selling pyridine in India. The QCO makes sure that all pyridine made and sold in the country meets certain quality standards. This protects consumers and makes sure that the products are reliable.
As of March 5, 2024, this change to the Pyridine (Quality Control) Order of 2020 makes it different. The most important change this addition makes is to the date the order goes into force. This order has been changed so that it will go into effect on March 13, 2025, instead of the date that was originally set. This change gives people in the pyridine business more time to make sure their operations and methods are in line with the new quality control standards set out in the QCO.
By issuing these kinds of strict quality control orders, the government hopes to protect public health, make sure that products like pyridine are safe, and keep the Indian chemical industry competitive in both local and foreign markets.
