The Indian Standards IS 15844(Part-3):2024 specifies the quality requirements for sports footwear, encompassing general purpose, performance, and professional sports categories. It sets standards for design, materials, construction, and performance aspects, ensuring durability, comfort, and safety for users across various sporting activities.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has amended the Quality Control Order (QCO) for sports footwear under IS 15844(Part-3):2024. Effective from August 1, 2024, all sports footwear falling under this standard must bear the Standard Mark, ensuring compliance with specified quality parameters. Manufacturers must obtain BIS certification and adhere to the prescribed standards, promoting consumer safety and quality assurance in the sports footwear market.
