BIS (QUALITY CONTROL) AMENDMENT ORDER FOR THE ACID OIL

The Central Government, utilizing the authority vested by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and following consultations with the Bureau of Indian Standards, deems it necessary in the public interest to enact an amendment to the Acid Oil IS 12029:1986 (Quality Control) Order, 2022.

This amendment, titled the Acid Oil (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, takes effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette. Specifically, in paragraph 1 of the Acid Oil IS 12029:1986 (Quality Control) Order, 2022, sub-paragraph (2) is substituted with a new sub-paragraph, specifying that the order will be enforced from the 24th day of April 2024. The purpose of this amendment is to ensure the quality control standards for acid oil, aligning with the Bureau of Indian Standards Act IS 12029:1986. This step is taken in the interest of the public, emphasizing the importance of regulating and maintaining the quality of acid oil in various applications.

The Central Government's action reflects its commitment to upholding standards and ensuring the well-being and safety of the public concerning acid oil products. According to this BIS IS 12029:1986 (quality control) amendment order for the acid oil one needs to take this into consideration.
