BIS (QUALITY CONTROL) AMENDMENT ORDER FOR THE HYDROGENATED RICE BRAN FATTY ACIDS

In the vibrant city of New Delhi, on the 19th day of October 2023, a significant announcement has been made. The Central Government, utilizing the authority vested in it by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), has taken a thoughtful step after discussions with the Bureau of Indian Standards. It has been observed that such action is necessary and beneficial for the public. Therefore, a notable amendment named amendment order for the hydrogenated rice bran fatty acids is being introduced.

This important change is formally titled BIS (quality control) amendment order for the hydrogenated rice bran fatty acids, and it marks a positive shift towards ensuring better standards for rice bran fatty acids. The amendment emphasizes the need for quality control and is set to come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. This adjustment specifically addresses paragraph 1 of the Coconut Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022, proposing a substitution for sub-paragraph (2).

According to the new sub-paragraph of BIS (quality control) amendment order for the hydrogenated rice bran fatty acid, this order will be applicable starting from the 24th day of April 2024. The Central Government is keen on upholding quality standards in the interest of public welfare, aligning with their commitment to ensuring the well-being of the citizens.
