THIS IS THE RECENT UPDATE FOR ALL EXISTING LICENSE HOLDERS, NEW APPLICANTS, MANUFACTURERS, IMPORTERS, AND PRODUCT SELLERS FROM THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS. IT SPECIFICALLY PERTAINS TO THE BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (QUALITY CONTROL) AMENDMENT ORDER FOR THE RICE BRAN FATTY ACIDS.

OVERVIEW

24th APRIL 2023

The Central Government, using the authority granted by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016). Following discussions with the Bureau of Indian Standards, the government deems it necessary for public welfare and convenience to introduce an amendment to the Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022. This amendment, titled the Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, aims to regulate and enhance the quality standards of rice bran fatty acids.

This Order comes into effect on the date it is officially published in the Official Gazette. The short title for this amendment reflects its purpose, emphasizing quality control for rice bran fatty acids. The amendment specifically targets paragraph 1 of the Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022, with a new sub-paragraph (2) stipulating that the order becomes enforceable starting April 24, 2024. This measure is crucial for ensuring that the quality and standards of rice bran fatty acids meet the necessary criteria, aligning with the government's commitment to public well-being.
