THIS CONCERNS THE RECENT UPDATE FROM THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (DEPARTMENT FOR PROMOTION OF INDUSTRY AND INTERNAL TRADE), REGARDING BIS QCO FOR THE DOOR FITTINGS (DOOR CLOSERS, CONCEALED TYPE (HYDRAULICALLY REGULATED))

OVERVIEW

23rd OCTOBER 2023

 The government has issued a rule about door fittings, and it's called the Door Fittings (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This rule says that certain goods or things related to doors must meet specific quality standards, and the items need to have a special mark to show they meet these standards according to BIS QCO for the door fittings (door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated)).

The Bureau of Indian Standards will make sure these rules are followed. If someone breaks these rules, they can be punished under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. The government made this decision after talking to the Bureau of Indian Standards to make sure it's good for the public. The rule doesn't apply to things made in India that are only meant for selling abroad. It also has different starting dates for small and micro enterprises according to BIS QCO for the door fittings (door closers, concealed type (hydraulically regulated)).
