Important information on the amending order for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023 has been updated and applies to all current licence holders, new applicants, producers, importers, and product dealers.

OVERVIEW

31st AUGUST 2024

The Ministry of Mines in New Delhi, on November 30, 2023, introduced a crucial amendment for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This significant development, officially titled the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (ALUMINIUM ALLOY INGOTS FOR BEARINGS) (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023," is poised to bring about essential changes in the regulation of aluminum and its alloys. The amendment, scheduled to be effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, specifically addresses quality control measures. The revised order, focusing on the enhancement of quality standards, is set to be enforced from June 1, 2024. This decision, made in the public interest and after consultations with the Bureau of Indian Standards, aligns with the authority granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
