Dear Viewer,
UPDATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (DEPARTMENT FOR PROMOTION OF INDUSTRY AND INTERNAL TRADE)
21st NOVEBER 2024
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, specifically the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, has set new rules to make sure certain steel products meet high standards. The government has made this decision under the authority given by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. Here's what you need to know:
These rules are known as the "BIS QCO Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh (Quality Control) Order, 2023." They become effective six months after being officially announced. Products listed in a table must meet specific Indian standards mentioned in the same table. They must have a special mark to show they meet these standards, obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. These rules don't apply to goods made in India but meant for export.
For small businesses (micro enterprises): It starts one year after the announcement.
For medium-sized businesses (small enterprises): It starts nine months after the announcement.
Authority for Certification and Enforcement: The Bureau of Indian Standards is in charge of making sure the goods listed in the table meet the standards. Anyone who doesn't follow these rules may face punishment under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. BIS QCQ for the Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh Order emphasizes adherence to stringent quality standards, ensuring these hinges meet specified Indian Standards.
