The government in New Delhi has decided to change the rules about how we make and use aluminum and its mixtures (alloys). They did this through something called the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023." This decision, made on November 30, 2023, gives the government the power to make these changes under a law called the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

The government thinks it's crucial to ensure that the way we deal with aluminum and its alloys is in the best interest of the public. To do this, they talked to a group of experts known as the Bureau of Indian Standards.

The order is named, "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023," but you can simply call it the "Aluminum Quality Control Update." It officially starts working on the date it's published in the Official Gazette. They've given it a special title too – the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023."

The specific change they made is in paragraph 1 of the original order. They replaced sub-paragraph (2) with a new one. This change will become effective from June 1, 2024. So, after this date, everyone has to follow the new rules when dealing with aluminum and its alloys. The government believes that these changes are necessary for the well-being of the public, and they've made sure to consult with experts to make the right decision.
