BIS QCO FOR THE MALEIC ANHYDRIDE

OVERVIEW

In accordance with the authority granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, deems it necessary in the public interest to amend the Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Order 2022. This amendment, titled the Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, comes into effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette. Simultaneously, another order is made to further amend the Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers (Quality Control) Order 2022. This amendment, known as the Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, also becomes effective upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Additionally, the Central Government, in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards, issues an order to amend the Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2022. This amendment, named the Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.

Each amendment order specifies the short title and commencement date, emphasizing the government's commitment to quality control in the chemical and petrochemical sector. These orders aim to enhance public interest and compliance with quality standards in the specified industries.
