OVERVIEW

31st AUGUST 2023

The Ministry of Mines in New Delhi, on November 30, 2023, introduced an amendment to the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This amendment, titled the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023," will be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The change specifies that the amended order, focusing on the quality control of aluminium and its alloys, will come into force from June 1, 2024. This decision is made in the public interest, following consultations with the Bureau of Indian Standards, and is empowered by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. The objective is to ensure that the rules regarding the quality of aluminium and its alloys are clear, making it beneficial for the public and the industry.

Amendment for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Order emphasizes adherence to stringent quality standards, ensuring these hinges meet specified Indian Standards.  Compliance with the Amendment for the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Order is essential to avoid penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
