UPDATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (DEPARTMENT FOR PROMOTION OF INDUSTRY AND INTERNAL TRADE)

Important information on the Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers (Quality Control) Order, 2023 has been updated. This information applies to all current licence holders, new applicants, producers, importers, and product dealers.

OVERVIEW

14TH DECEMBER 2024

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi has issued an order about Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers. This order, named the "Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers (Quality Control) Order, 2023," will start six months after it gets published in the Official Gazette. The order makes it compulsory for certain goods to have a Standard Mark, following specific Indian Standards. The Bureau of Indian Standards will be responsible for certifying and enforcing these standards. Anyone breaking these rules may face penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.

This rule doesn't affect things made in the country for selling in other countries. For very small businesses, it starts working after twelve months, and for smaller ones, it starts after nine months from the announcement date.
