Dear Viewer,
Important update regarding Indian Standard applicable to all existing Licence holders/ New applicants/ manufacturers/ importers/ product sellers for the Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes, and Wire Mesh (Steel Wire Ropes for General Engineering Purposes) (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The government in New Delhi, on November 21, 2023, has set new rules for certain products like steel wires, strands, nylon or wire ropes, and wire mesh. They've named it the "BIS QCO for the Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh (Quality Control) Order, 2023." This decision comes from a law called the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
The government believes it's important to make sure these products are up to a certain standard for the well-being of the public. So, they talked to experts at the Bureau of Indian Standards before making these rules.
The order has two important parts. First, it's called the "BIS QCO for the Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh (Quality Control) Order, 2023." Second, it officially starts working six months after it's published in the Official Gazette.
The order says that these products must meet specific Indian standards, and you'll know they do because they'll have a special mark. This mark is like a stamp of approval given by the Bureau of Indian Standards. However, if these products are made in India but meant for export (sending them to other countries), these rules won't apply. There's also a timeline for small and micro enterprises. Micro enterprises have a year, and small enterprises have nine months from the day this order is published to follow these rules. BIS QCQ for the Steel Wires or Strands, Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh Order emphasizes adherence to stringent quality standards, ensuring these hinges meet specified Indian Standards. The government is doing all this to make sure these products meet high standards and are good for everyone.
Note: Always use the latest version of Indian Standards mentioned in this table, along with any updates issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
