UPDATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICALS AND PETROCHEMICALS)

Important information on the Indian Standard for Textiles High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement (Quality Control) Order, 2023 that applies to all current license holders, new applicants, producers, importers, and product dealers.

OVERVIEW

6th DECEMBER 2024

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has made a new rule called the "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

This order, known as the "Textiles — High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/ Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement (Quality Control) Order, 2023," becomes effective 180 days from its publication in the Official Gazette.

It applies to specific goods mentioned in the Schedule and doesn't affect items intended for export. The specified goods must meet the relevant Indian Standard mentioned in the Schedule and display the Standard Mark. This requires a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The Bureau of Indian Standards is the authority responsible for certifying and enforcing compliance for the mentioned goods.
