BIS QCO FOR THE CAST IRON PRODUCTS (CAST IRON SINGLE FACED THIMBLE MOUNTED SLUICE GATES)

In New Delhi on August 24, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issues an order, exercising powers under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This order, named the Cast Iron Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023, will be effective six months after appearing in the Official Gazette.

Under the BIS QCO for the cast iron products (cast iron single faced thimble mounted sluice gates) order, goods listed in the table must adhere to Indian Standards, obtaining the Standard Mark through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. According to the

BIS QCO for the cast iron products (cast iron single faced thimble mounted sluice gates) exceptions are made for domestically manufactured goods meant for export. Small enterprises comply nine months after publication, and micro-enterprises comply after twelve months. The Bureau of Indian Standards is the certifying and enforcing authority for the specified goods. Violations of this order will incur penalties according to the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. The government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, deems this order necessary in the public interest, aiming to uphold quality standards for cast iron products
