The government in New Delhi, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has decided some important rules. This decision was made on October 23, 2023, and it's about helmets used by the police, civil defense, and for personal protection. According to BIS QCO for the helmet for police force IS 2925, civil defence and personal protection (specification for industrial safety helmets) IS 2925. These rules aim to make sure these helmets meet specific quality standards IS 2925. Starting six months from now, these rules will be in effect.
According to the rules, the helmets must meet certain standards mentioned in a list. They must also have a special mark to show they meet these standards. The authority to give this mark is the Bureau of Indian Standards. Some things, like goods made here for export, are exceptions to these rules. Micro-enterprises have twelve months to follow the rules, and small enterprises have nine months from the date these rules are published. According to the BIS QCO for the helmet for police force, civil defence and personal protection (specification for industrial safety helmets)IS 2925
The Bureau of Indian Standards will make sure the helmets follow the rules. If anyone breaks these rules, there are punishments under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This is to make sure people stay safe when using these helmets.IS 2925
