UPDATE FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICALS AND PETROCHEMICALS)

Important information about the Indian Standard for Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilisers (Quality Control) Order, 2023 has been updated and is relevant to all current licence holders, new applications, producers, importers, and product dealers.

OVERVIEW

6th DECEMBER 2024

The government has issued a new order about packaging materials for fertilizers. It's called the Textiles—High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) /Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This order becomes effective after six months. It applies to specific goods mentioned in the Schedule but not those intended for export. The goods must meet the Indian Standard mentioned in the Schedule and carry the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. The Bureau of Indian Standards will make sure the goods follow the rules outlined in the order.
