The Indian Government, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued an order in New Delhi on a certain date in 2023. This order, known as BIS QCO for the electrical accessories (bayonet lamp holders), becomes effective six months after its publication in the official Gazette. It mandates the use of a Standard Mark on specified goods or articles listed in Table-1 and Table-2, aligning with corresponding Indian Standards mentioned in these tables. Compliance requires obtaining a license from the Bureau according to Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

According to the BIS QCO for the electrical accessories (bayonet lamp holders) exceptions to this order include goods manufactured domestically for export. Micro and small enterprises, as defined in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, are exempt until twelve months from the publication date.

The certification and enforcing authority for the listed goods or articles in Table-1 and Table-2 is the Bureau. As per BIS QCO for the electrical accessories (bayonet lamp holders) items falling under Electrical Accessories must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard 15787: 2008, specifically covering Switch-socket-outlets (non-interlock type).
