Product Description

Nickel maraging steel is a special type of very strong steel. It's tough and doesn't wear out easily. This steel is made up of a mix of metals, including iron, nickel, cobalt, and some other stuff like molybdenum, titanium, and aluminum. What makes it really special is that after it's heated up and treated, it gets even stronger. This makes it perfect for things like parts in airplanes, missiles, and other machines where we need super strong materials that don't break easily.

Introduction

Nickel maraging steel is a special type of very strong steel. It's tough and doesn't wear out easily. This steel is made up of a mix of metals, including iron, nickel, cobalt, and some other stuff like molybdenum, titanium, and aluminum. What makes it really special is that after it's heated up and treated, it gets even stronger. This makes it perfect for things like parts in airplanes, missiles, and other machines where we need super strong materials that don't break easily.

Another cool thing about this steel is that it doesn't get attracted to magnets. This is important, especially in machines like MRI scanners, where regular metal could mess up the pictures. Plus, it's easy to weld, which means you can join pieces of this steel together to make all sorts of things. So, in simple terms, nickel maraging steel is super-strong, tough, doesn't stick to magnets, and can be used in all kinds of high-tech machines and equipment where strength and reliability are crucial.

IS 14652:1999 for 18 percent nickel maraging steel bars and rods. This standard covers the requirements for maraging steels containing 18 percent nickel in the form of bars and rods with nominal diameters less than 62.5 mm. The steel will be produced through vacuum induction melting, followed by consumable electrode vacuum arc remelting. The term "ingot" refers to a casting of consumable electrode vacuum arc remelted steel.
