5.     The surface of the rods, bars, flats, and sections must be bright, clean, and smooth, with no scale, rust, pitting, dirt, or other surface irregularities.

6.     The surface must be electroplating-ready. Material intended for cold heading must have an extrusion finish.

7.     The material must be tested to ensure that it complies with the specified standard.

8.     Packing and marking shall be done as per IS 11947:1987, and the material may also be marked with the standard mark (ISI Mark).

9.     The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark).

10.  The Bureau grants a license based on a successful assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, production process, and quality control and testing capabilities during a visit to its manufacturing premises.
