REQUIREMENTS FOR IS 12313: 1988

1.     The sheet's thickness should be between 0.3 and 2.0 mm. Other than this, the thickness can be agreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer.

2.     The terne sheet in cut lengths must be free from laminations, surface flaws, and other imperfections that would be detrimental to subsequent appropriate processing.

3.     Testing shall be done to ensure that the product meets the standard requirements.

4.     Marking shall be done as per IS 12313:1988.

5.     The tag attached to terne sheets shall be marked with information as specified in the standard.

6.      The standard mark (ISI Mark) shall also apply to the material.

7.     The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark).
