REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAPEZOIDAL STEEL WIRES IS 12262:1988

1.     The wire must be drawn from steel that has been produced using an open hearth, electric, duplex, basic oxygen, or a combination of these processes.

2.     The wire must be well and cleanly drawn to the specified dimensions.

3.     The surface of the wire must be smooth and free from rust, die marks, scratches, seams, pits, and other flaws.

4.     General material supply requirements must be in accordance with the standard.

5.     In general, the wire must be supplied in the form of a single continuous length that has been properly coiled.

6.     The wire must not be kinked or wavy.

7.     The wire's size and tolerance on dimensions must be as specified in the standard.

8.     The wire must meet the standard's physical and chemical requirements.

9.     The material must be packed in such a way that corrosion does not attack the material during transit.

10.  Each coil of wire must be labelled with the information as specified in the standard.

11.  The standard mark (ISI Mark) may also be applied to the material.

12.  The Manufacturer must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark)
